aLANNA ARMELIN (BRYSON)
(she/her) Alanna is a proud Black-Filipina-Latina, Los Angeles based actress who is VERY excited to be back as Bryson in this award-winning show! A proud graduate of Cal State Fullerton, where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre. You can always find her singing showtimes, tap dancing everywhere she goes, and building lightsabers on Batuu! She is forever grateful to the spectacular women that created this show and gave her the opportunity to bring Bryson to life. MARY BONNEY (BOOK/PRODUCER/CAROL)
(she/her) Mary is a genre-loving producer who is thrilled One Up is back for level two! Mary produced the 2023 HFF Les Millénniables (Best Musical Nominee) and wrote and starred in the musical series Break: The Musical (Indie Series Awards: Best Soundtrack, SeriesFest) She has worked across shows like Yellowjackets and The Rookie and her work has amassed hundreds of millions of online views. PATRICK BOYLAN (GREG)
(he/they) Patrick is honored to be remounting this wonderful musical with some of his best friends! Credits include Hollywood Fringe: Halfway to Gethsemane (Jaxx Theatre). NY Fringe: Drowning Ophelia (St. Marks Theater). Regional: Willy Wonka and the Weed Factory (Fremont Center Theater, Pasadena, CA.). TV: Quarter Life Poetry (Co-Star, FX), Mere Et Fille (Supporting, Disney Channel). Film: Gregslist (Lead, Independent), Maybe Someday (Supporting, Independent). ERIK OLSON (TEDDY)
(he/him) Erik is an LA based singer, improviser, and DnD nerd. Erik graduated from Syracuse University with a BFA in Musical Theater. In addition to musical theater, Erik is also active in the LA musical improv community and can be found around town with his teams Orion's Belt and Aunt Hill. Erik can't wait to throw it back to the 80's as programmer and aspiring rockstar Teddy.
JAMES BEARDSLEY (NEIL)
(he/him) James is an actor, improviser, singer, and gamer from Los Angeles. Some favorite musicals include Big River, Footloose, Parade, and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Some favorite video games include Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Rock Band. Thank you to Weslie, Hannah, and Mary for your direction and leadership. Let's play!
JULIET JOHNSON (DONA/ENSEMBLE)
(they/them) Juliet is so excited to be returning to this incredible show! Recent credits include Dance/Ensemble in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl, Irish in a staged concert of The Great Age of Sail, and as a Dancer/Singer with Carnival Cruise Line. They look forward to reprising their role as a Dancer in Jesus Christ Superstar later this spring with the Nocturne Theatre. Juliet graduated valedictorian from Pepperdine University with a BA in Theatre Arts.
MICHAEL COALE GREY (ENSEMBLE/DANCE CAPTAIN)
(he/him) Michael is so excited to respawn with One Up…Level 2! Fave Theater Credits: Theory of Relativity @ Goodspeed Musicals (Original Cast Recording), American Idiot @ Artswest Playhouse, Elf: The Musical @ Paper Mill Playhouse. Michael also recently starred in the upcoming short film It’s a Wonderful Chai. His band, Hot Apartment, is currently working on their debut EP and their music can be streamed on all major platforms. D’ANGELO REYES (ENSEMBLE/SCENIC DESIGN)
(he/him) D’Angelo is a Filipino-American actor, comedian, writer, and production designer for theme parks and theater. You can usually find him talking about walkable city planning, extinct Disney Parks attractions, or Halloween in general. D’Angelo performs musical improv with his indie team Super Super Cool, and at UCB with Sing Out, Louise! on Small Town Mayor. IG: dangelo1260
GABRIELLE FLECK (ENSEMBLE)
(she/her) Gabrielle is an actor and producer originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil. She holds a BFA in Acting from NYU and has worked both onstage and behind the scenes in both theater and film. She is a proud musical theater nerd and UCB musical improv performer.
WESLIE LECHNER (BOOK/PRODUCER)
(she/her) Weslie is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and producer who enjoys spinning her existential dread into comedic yarns. Her credits include the fictional comedy podcast Private Detective Randy Randy (Stitcher indie/Comedy Pod Pick), the web pilot Murder Roommates (WhoHaha, YouTube's Women in Comedy), and the apocalyptic sci-fi comedy short Eindis Ends It All, which was an official selection in nine film festivals, including Slamdance, Nashville Film Festival, and Sci-Fi-London. She is downright delighted to be the award-winning One Up: The Musical back to the stage at the Madnani.
MATT DAHAN (MUSIC & LYRICS)
(he/him) Matt is thrilled to One Up is back for level two! Stage: Starry (Los Angeles), The Babies (Off-Broadway), The Count of Monte Cristo (Hollywood Fringe). Film: CODA (Academy Awards shortlist: Best Original Song, Hollywood Music in Media Award winner), Break: The Musical (Best Soundtrack, Indie Series Awards), How Sweet It Is (movie musical). Music director for the multi-platform and totally awesome Team Starkid. Currently writes and performs in the musical science-fiction radio-series Pulp Musicals. HANNAH GLOBUS (DIRECTOR)
(she/her) Hannah is a screenwriter, director, and award-winning playwright. As a proud member of the WGA, Hannah has worked for clients such as Disney, Netflix, and Bedrock Entertainment, with a notable eye for a good romance, wish-fulfilling entertainment, and uplifting historical retellings. Following a summer at Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Hannah took a senselessly long hiatus from theater, but returned recently with a bang, winning the American Playwriting Foundation’s Relentless Award for her short picket play. She is delighted to be back with One Up: The Musical and knows this is just the beginning.
LAUREN SPERLING (PRODUCER)
(she/her) Lauren has been performing in and producing theater shows all over LA for the last decade. She is thrilled One Up: The Musical is returning and she’s part of the team! Lauren trained at The American Musical & Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles, and received a Masters degree in Classical Acting for Contemporary Theater at the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA). LOLA DARZENS (STAGE MANAGER)
(she/her) After obtaining her Masters Degree in Business and her Certificate from the Stella Adler Art of Acting Studio, Lola expanded her craft from acting, to writing and directing. She was a semi-finalist of the Loud Karma Productions writing award for her play Maybe I’ll Plant My Stories. She was also starring in the play Do you believe in Life before Death? and will star as Sherlock Holmes in Ms Holmes, Ms Watson - Apartment 2B.
